CLQ container, sanitary stainless steel tank by Exova

Description

The CLQ container is a sanitary stainless steel tank for storing product, feeding critical lines and transferring product between stages of a pharmaceutical or biotech process. It is not agitated and ranges from 100 to 5,000 L working volume.

Product-contact parts are AISI 316L, with the interior polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm, chemical passivation and full-penetration TIG welds; the exterior structure is AISI 304, with a matte polish. It is designed to ASME BPE 2022 criteria: it drains completely, cleans without dead zones, operates from −1 to 3 bar and goes through CIP and SIP.

The head has a charging port with a lid, clamp connections and a spray ball inlet; the bottom discharges through a sanitary clamp outlet or a bottom tank valve. On request, it can be fitted with an insulated heating jacket, load cells, level control, interior lighting and locking casters for moving it between operations without hoisting. We design it for each process and manufacture it at our stainless steel fabrication plant.

AISI 316L with Ra ≤ 0.4 µm

Product-contact parts in AISI 316L, polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm and passivated; exterior structure in AISI 304.

ASME BPE 2022 design

Drainable and cleanable, built to operate from −1 to 3 bar and go through CIP and SIP.

100 to 5,000 L

For storing product, feeding critical lines or holding intermediate product between two process stages.

Optional jacket and insulation

Half-pipe jacket with coils on the bottom, for steam, hot water or thermal oil, with sealed insulation clad in AISI 304.

Load cells and level control

Ready for beam load cells and differential-pressure level control, for formulating or transferring by weight.

On casters, without hoisting

With locking casters, it moves between operations without needing to be hoisted.

Frequently asked questions

What volumes is it manufactured in?

From 100 to 5,000 L working volume. Each tank is sized for the process, with the connections and accessories the installation requires.

Can the stored product be kept hot?

Yes. With the optional half-pipe jacket, for steam, hot water or thermal oil, and the ceramic blanket insulation with sealed AISI 304 cladding, it maintains or raises the product temperature.

Can the contents be weighed?

Yes. The tank is prepared for beam load cells, which can be integrated with weight controllers for formulating or transferring. It also accepts differential-pressure level control.

How is it cleaned?

It is designed to drain and be cleaned completely: it accepts CIP with a spray ball and steam sterilization (SIP), and operates from −1 to 3 bar.
