Description

The MAG reactor is a pharmaceutical stainless steel reactor with magnetic agitation, for preparing and mixing solutions in sterile pharmaceutical and biotech processes. It ranges from 50 to 5,000 L working volume.

The coupling is magnetic, through the bottom: the motor stays outside, and inside there is no shaft passing through the wall, no leak point and no dead zone that CIP cannot reach. Mixing is homogeneous, with no risk of cross-contamination.

Product-contact parts are AISI 316L, with the interior polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm, chemical passivation and a hydrostatic test on every unit. It is designed to ASME BPE 2022 criteria, operates from −1 to 3 bar and is suitable for CIP and SIP. It is built with or without a jacket, with load cells, sensors and dosing pumps to suit the process, and is supplied with no automation, with simple controllers or with full PLC automation. We manufacture it at our stainless steel fabrication plant.

Magnetic agitation through the bottom

The motor stays outside: there is no shaft passing through the vessel, no seal that can leak and no dead zones for CIP.

AISI 316L with Ra ≤ 0.4 µm

Product-contact parts in AISI 316L polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm, with chemical passivation and a hydrostatic test on every unit.

ASME BPE 2022 design

Drainable and cleanable, built to operate from −1 to 3 bar and go through CIP and SIP.

With or without a jacket

Jacket for steam, hot water, thermal oil or glycol, with thermal insulation, to heat or cool the product.

Custom instrumentation

Load cells, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen and level sensors, and peristaltic pumps for additive dosing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the advantage of magnetic agitation?

The motor stays outside the tank and drives the impeller through the bottom with a magnetic coupling. There is no shaft passing through the wall and no seal that can leak, and there is no dead zone that CIP cannot reach: that is why it is chosen for sterile processes.

Can it heat or cool the product?

Yes, with the optional jacket for steam, hot water, thermal oil or glycol, and sealed thermal insulation. Without a jacket, it operates at ambient temperature.

What instrumentation does it accept?

Load cells for formulating by weight, differential-pressure level control, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen and level sensors, and peristaltic pumps for additive dosing. The instruments go on clamp side connections or sanitary ports.

Does it come automated?

It is supplied with no automation, with simple controllers or with full PLC automation, depending on how the process is controlled.
