Glass microfiber + PES membrane cartridge
Clarification of high particle and colloid loads to protect final membranes
Two-layer cartridge: high-density glass microfiber prefilter and an asymmetric 0.1 to 0.6 µm PES membrane. Protects the sterilizing filter from high loads.
The PreFiber Max GF + PES combines a high-density glass microfiber prefilter and an asymmetric polyethersulfone (PES) final membrane in a single cartridge. It is designed to maximize the protection of final membranes when the fluid carries heavy particle and colloid loads.
The dense prefilter retains suspended solids, aggregated proteins, and colloids in depth and reduces the load reaching the sterilizing filter, extending the final filter's service life and lowering the total cost of operation. The asymmetric PES membrane provides high flow and microbial stability, and the pressure drop remains stable even in extended processes.
It is used in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology—clarification before sterilizing filtration, media and buffers, biological and protein solutions, parenterals, sera, and vaccines—and in wine, beer, cider, and juices. It is compatible with SIP, CIP, autoclave, and irradiation, and is manufactured in an ISO 7 cleanroom.
Retains suspended solids, aggregated proteins, and colloids before they reach the final membrane.
Polyethersulfone final filter with high flow and microbial stability.
Optimized for high depth-loading capacity, with 4,500 cm² of area per 10″.
The pressure drop remains stable even in extended processes.
Steam at 121 °C in-line or in an autoclave; hot water at 80 °C; peracetic acid and sodium hydroxide up to 1 %.
Materials compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177 for food contact and non-toxic components according to the Argentine Food Code.

Two filter media: high-density glass microfiber upstream and an asymmetric polyethersulfone (PES) membrane downstream. The support layers, cage, core, ends, and fin are polypropylene.
Nominal pore sizes of 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 µm, in lengths of 10″, 20″, 30″, and 40″, with a 2.75″ (70 mm) diameter.
With in-line steam or in an autoclave at 121 °C, in multiple cycles of 30 to 60 minutes. This is recommended for single-open-end cartridges with internal reinforcement at the 226 or 222 O-ring fitting. It is compatible with SIP, CIP, autoclave, and irradiation.
The recommended change-out differential pressure is 2 bar. The maximum allowed is 5.5 bar (80 psi) at 25 °C in normal flow and 0.69 bar (10 psi) at 25 °C in reverse flow.
Both combine glass microfiber and an asymmetric PES membrane. The PreFiber Max GF + PES uses a high-density glass prefilter, for heavy particle and colloid loads, with 4,500 cm² per 10″; the PreFiber GF + PES uses high-capacity glass, with 6,700 cm² per 10″.
