Glass microfiber + PES membrane cartridge
Prefiltering biological and protein solutions and beverages before the sterilizing filter
Hybrid cartridge of high-capacity glass microfiber and asymmetric PES membrane, with 6,700 cm² per 10″, for biopharma, beverages, and wine.
The PreFiber GF + PES is a hybrid cartridge that integrates a high-capacity glass microfiber (GF) prefilter and a high-flow asymmetric polyethersulfone (PES) final membrane. This combined construction reduces the contaminant load reaching the final filter, prolongs its service life, and lowers the system's operating costs.
It is used to prefilter biological and protein solutions and beverages before final sterilizing filtration. It offers 6,700 cm² of filtration area per 10″, high dirt-holding capacity, and a low pressure drop.
It is designed for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, and for beverages and wine. It is compatible with SIP, CIP, autoclave, and in-line sterilization, and is manufactured in an ISO 7 cleanroom.
High-capacity glass microfiber prefilter and high-flow asymmetric polyethersulfone final membrane.
Nominal filtration area, in standard lengths of 10″, 20″, 30″, and 40″.
Optimized to protect downstream sterilizing-grade filters.
Steam at 121 °C in-line or in an autoclave; hot water at 80 °C; peracetic acid and sodium hydroxide up to 1 %.
Protein solutions, buffers, culture media, large-volume parenterals, wine, beer, cider, and juices.
Materials compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177 for food contact and non-toxic components according to the Argentine Food Code.

A high-capacity glass microfiber prefilter upstream and an asymmetric polyethersulfone (PES) membrane downstream. The support layers, cage, core, and ends are polypropylene.
Pore sizes of 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 µm; lengths of 10″, 20″, 30″, and 40″; a 2.75″ (70 mm) diameter.
Yes. It withstands multiple cycles of 30 to 60 minutes with in-line steam or in an autoclave at 121 °C. This is recommended for single-open-end cartridges with internal reinforcement at the 226 or 222 O-ring fitting.
Yes. Its applications include filtration ahead of final membranes in wine and clarification of beer, cider, and juices. Its materials are compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177 for food contact.
Both combine glass microfiber and an asymmetric PES membrane. The PreFiber GF + PES uses high-capacity glass, with 6,700 cm² per 10″ and a low pressure drop; the PreFiber Max GF + PES uses a high-density glass prefilter, for heavy particle and colloid loads, with 4,500 cm² per 10″.
