PES membrane cartridge for beer and wine
Particle and yeast retention at 0.65 µm in beer and sparkling wines
Single-layer PES membrane filter cartridge, 0.65 µm, for retaining particles and yeasts before the bottling of beer, wine, and sparkling wine.
The LifePure W is a polyethersulfone (PES) membrane filter cartridge in a single-layer configuration. It was developed for the food and beverage industry, especially for the filtration of beer and sparkling wines.
It is offered in a single rating, 0.65 µm, which retains more than 10⁷ Saccharomyces cerevisiae per cm². It is used as a final filter before bottling or as an integrity-testable prefilter, and has 8,000 cm² of filtration area per 10″.
The membrane is chemically resistant and stable across the pH range of 1 to 14. The cartridge withstands repeated sanitization cycles with hot water at 80 °C and with chemical cleaning and disinfection agents, as well as multiple steam sterilizations, so it can be reused.
Retains more than 10⁷ Saccharomyces cerevisiae per cm²: particles and yeasts stay in the filter before bottling.
Designed for beer, wine, and sparkling wine, with 8,000 cm² of filtration area per 10″.
The PES membrane is chemically resistant across the entire pH range of 1 to 14.
Serves as a final filter before bottling or as a prefilter with integrity testing. Integrity is tested at the plant.
Cycles of 30 to 60 minutes with steam at 121 °C, water at 80 °C, peracetic acid, or sodium hydroxide at 1 %.
